Happy Easter!

We had Easter 1 day early this year so that Edyn and Layne could be there with us. We went to Mark & Val's and had an easter egg hunt and a yummy dinner and Kinley slept through all of it. She woke up at the end as everyone was getting ready to leave. She did get some pretty good Easter gifts from Nana & Papa (see her outfit), Great Aunt Lori (see her bib), Great Grandma Linda and Great Grandma Sandy (she says thank you!) On Sunday we went to breakfast in Gibson with Great Grandma Linda and Great Aunt Lori. We had a lot of people stopping by the table to comment on how Kinley is. Luckily we got home before she started having a belly ache because she was not a happy camper all day Sunday which resulted in a couple of very tired Moms.

Next year there will be 2 more very cute kids to add to this picture!

2 Months - It's Springtime!

She's already too big to lay on her doggie

Kinley had her 2mo check up today (she was officially 2mo yesterday) and everything is going well. She is 9lbs (10th percentile), 22in long (30%) and her head is 15in (45%) and even though she's only 2mo her actions, as far as following people with her eyes and hand and feet movement, she is at 3mo. Dr. Emm said odds are that she should be rolling over around 4mo but I told him she is already hiking up her leg/butt and trying to do it which he said was great at her age. She had 3 shots today which she is definitely not a fan of but she gets to spend the day at Nana and Papa's so I'm sure she will be over it soon with all their snuggles. Next appointment is at 4mo. on May 22nd.

She is doing really well at Lacy's during the week and Wren loves her! She is still loving her baths and especially washing her hair. I think we have a water baby on our hands! Looks like we better get prepared for trips to the swimming pool and Erica might need to learn to swim. She is really into looking at things now. She still loves her sound soother giraffe (Gabby) and the other day she was cooing at the stuffed puppy Great Aunt Lori got her for Valentine's Day. It's so exciting to hear her making more noise and responding to voices. She really loves her Papa's voice. The second she hears it she starts smiling!

64 days until her first trip to see Grammy and Danny in Oklahoma!
Wren likes to point at Kinley and wait for Lacy to say "baby"

1 Month - My How Time Flies

The sign says I love baths and my sound soother giraffe, I finally grew out of a couple newborn outfits and I weigh 9.8lbs.

Our beautiful baby is 1 month old today! It's crazy how fast time flies. I weighed her today and she has definitely become a little chunk. She now weighs 9.8lbs and has a double chin and chubby cheeks. It's been a busy month with a ton of visitors and Kinley and I being couped up in the house. Dr. Emm says no public places until she is 2mo and even though we've disobeyed a couple times we are trying to keep her in to keep her from getting sick since it's a horrible cold/flu season. I can't wait for Spring so she can get out and breathe the fresh air!

On a side note for me I've lost 13lbs since having Kinley and I haven't even been trying. I'm looking forward to the nice weather so we can get out and walk with her and hopefully I can peel off some more pounds!

*Correction - My scale is messed up, she did not weigh 9.8lbs. Not sure of actual weight.

Dr. Emm Says She's Perfect!

Kinley had her 2wk check up today and she did really good at the doctor's office. She weighs 6lb 7oz (10%) is 19 1/4 in. long (15%)  and her head measures 13 3/4 (33%) After Dr. Emm checked everything out he said she looks perfect and is happy with her weight gain. Our "homework" before her 2mo. appt. is for her to gain 3-5lbs and do tummy time each day. She loves to lay on your chest so that will be no problem!

Welcome to the World Kinley!

Kinley Judith Ann Riddle

1/19/13 - 4:57pm - 6lbs 3oz - 18 3/4in.

On Friday night (18th) Erica and I had gone to dinner with Mark, Val and Sandy for Sandy's birthday then hung out at their house for a couple hours talking about all kinds of stuff, including when Kinley would get here. Erica and I got home right around 10pm and changed into our pajamas. I had barely changed and thought I felt something wet. By the time I got to the bathroom there was more and I knew it was my water. So I yelled to Erica to get her clothes back on, we need to get to the hospital. We got to the hospital and was admitted around 11pm after the nurse determined that my water did break and I was dilated to 5cm. Before we could even get into our room Mark, Val, Lacy, Wren and Sandy were there. The next hours were just a waiting game. I didn't feel any contractions until 3am and decided to get an epidural because they were going to start pitocin at 4am and I wanted to make sure that the epidural was in before the pitocin cranked up the contractions and I ran out of time. Well, come to find out I really didn't need to worry about that because the pitocin didn't start until 11am. I ended up stalling at 6cm for quite a while and when the nurse and Dr. Weaver checkd me they found that my water hadn't fully broken so Dr. Weaver broke my water around 3:30pm. The nurse came back to check me around 4:40 I think and wanted me to do some practice pushes because I was at 9.5cm, her head was close and I was almost ready to push. I had a little cold so I coughed then got my legs in position and the nurse said "don't push, her head is right here, I'm going to call Dr. Weaver." Within minutes the whole room was set up for Kinley's debut. Dr. Weaver walked in the door at 4:52pm and 5 minutes and 1 push later Kinley was here! She even grabbed the nurses's arm on her way to my chest! Dr. Weaver and all the nurses were blown away by how fast things went. They even told me not to tell anyone because people would be jealous. I got to watch everything and as soon as they put her on my chest, I thought look at this amazing, beautiful, perfect little girl that just came into this world. I don't remember much of what happened after that because I couldn't stop looking at her. I know Erica got to cut the cord and I saw all the weight checks and everything but I couldn't really tell you any details because I was so happy and obsessed with this little beauty. Erica and I are so lucky to have had things work out so well. We only had to try 3 times before getting pregnant (normal fertile couples try 6-12mo), I had a great pregnancy with no problems then we get a great labor that did progress slow but birth was fast and easy. There's absolutely nothing I would change about the past year. I can't wait to see how Kinley grows and changes and how that makes Erica and I grow and change.

She's On Her Way!

One of the first things out of Dr. Weaver's mouth while doing my exam this morning was "Well I wasn't expecting that!" Normally that's not something you want to hear but then she said that Kinley's head is down nice and low, I'm 3cm dilated and 50% effaced! Looks like she's going to be here earlier than we expected! Dr. Weaver said I might not even make it to my next appointment on the 15th.

Hey Mom, you might want to get a bag packed and ready to go!
