I know the title of this post sounds a little weird but I have to admit I was nervous about today's appointment just because we would have a lot of stuff to take back and re-register if the first ultrasound was wrong. So, to confirm, It's A Girl! Kinley is 14oz and has a heartrate of 134bpm. I found out the reason I haven't felt her move yet is because I have an anterior placenta. So it seems it will still be a little while before I get to feel her moving around and even longer until Erica will get to feel it. Next appointment in 4wks on Oct. 16th. (Time just keeps ticking by!)
*Anterior Placenta - It means your baby is taking a backseat to the placenta. The term "anterior placenta" refers to the location of the placenta within your uterus. Most of the time, a fertilized egg will situate itself in the posterior uterus — the part closest to your spine, which is where the placenta eventually develops, too. Sometimes, though, the egg implants on the opposite side of the uterus, closest to your abdomen. When the placenta develops, it grows on the front (or anterior) side of your uterus, with the baby behind it. Does the location of your placenta make any difference? Not to your baby, who doesn't care which side of the uterus he or she is lying on, and it certainly makes no difference to him or her where the placenta lies. And what about to you — or your practitioner? You might be less able to feel your baby's early kicks and punches because the placenta will serve as a cushion between your baby and your tummy. For the same reason, your doctor or midwife may find it a bit harder to hear fetal heart sounds. These situations will resolve if the placenta moves into a more posterior position later on (as anterior placentas commonly do). But the good news here is that, despite those slight inconveniencies, an anterior placenta in and of itself poses no risk to your health.

It's A Girl!
Say hello to Kinley Ann!
We got the sonogram done at Little Wonders today at 10am and even though it killed me to wait until the Gender Reveal Party at 2pm I held out. While we were at the sonogram Erica said she swore she saw some boy parts but it looks like it must have been a finger or the umbilical cord because both the sonographer and the assistant saw the girl parts at the same time and agreed. (Even though we didn't know what they were agreeing on at the time.) We asked everyone to come dressed in pink or blue to represent boy or girl and we had a pretty good mix with 5 pink and 7 blue. (Not including kids and there were a couple that wore both) Erica and I both thought boy because the chinese calendar said boy and we thought it couldn't be coincidence that everytime I left Dr. Weaver's office I heard Moves Like Jagger. Boy were we wrong! I loved seeing everyone's reaction when opening the box of balloons and seeing all the pink come flooding out! We also got some really cute outfits from Uncle Lisa, Deb and Great Grandma Sandy (thank you thank you!) Naturally we had to go start a registry and we picked out a couple outfits from Kohl's and Babies R' Us since we had coupons and got both free! For those of you that don't know the reason we picked the names; we went with Kinley for Erica's Grandpa (his name was Kinsey) and Ann for my Aunt Judy who have both passed away. It's been a long, happy exciting and exhausting day and I couldn't be happier!
Thanks to Lisa and Deb the video above is of our reactions to the box opening!

Hello Second Trimester!
Now that I am in the second trimester I am looking forward to having a little more energy. For the past 13wks I have felt like all the energy was being sucked out of me daily. I could go to bed at 8pm and get up at 6:30am and still be tired, even with taking naps on the weekends. Another plus to the second trimester is getting to find out if we're having a girl or boy, which we will do in 2wks! I can't wait to register for the shower. I know it's a little early but we already have so much and I want to make sure I don't forget anything.
For those of you counting down (like me) only 12 more days until the gender reveal!

10wk 5days
Baby was sleepy this time so I couldn't get video of him spinning like he was last time. I'm still measuring 4 days early and everything looks great. Today was my last bi-weekly appointment so there will be fewer ultrasound pictures from now on. I made an appointment for August 18th at Little Wonders to do a 3D sonogram so we can find out the gender. Don't worry, I will share the good news with everyone that day, well if the baby cooperates. (fingers crossed)

Almost 9 Weeks!
I had another sonogram today and we found out that the baby is 1in. long, the heart rate is 175 and boy is this baby a mover!. I'm still measuring 4 days early and I've lost 4lbs. It was so funny because the sonographer said she always thinks that the babies look like gummy bears at this stage and they kinda do.

We Got to Hear the Heartbeat!
Today was my first sonogram and we got to hear the heartbeat! It was so exciting because I figured we would only get to see the flutter of the heart. She said I was measuring at 7wk 2day and by my due date (Feb. 3) I am only 6wk 5 day so it looks like my estimated due date of Jan. 30 is right on target. I can't wait to see the changes in the sonogram since I get to go every 2 weeks!

5 weeks today!
I am 5 weeks today! On Friday (6/1/12) I went to the doctor for a sonogram but they decided not to do one yet since I was only a couple days shy of 5wks. I did have blood work, an exam and found out that my HCG level went from 98 on 5/24 to 1,051 on 5/29. I go back on June 15th for a sonogram and will keep doing sonograms until I am off the progesterone which is at 12 weeks.
At 5 weeks Baby Riddle is the size of a sesame seed and looks like a little tadpole. No cravings or nausea yet (fingers crossed no morning sickness) but I do have some tenderness and, if you can imagine me going to the bathroom even more, an increase in urination.
